Real stories from real people
At APM, we love to celebrate the moments that make a difference to the people we help to realise their ambitions and aspirations through sustainable employment, independence, better health and wellbeing, and increased social participation.
It’s a great feeling to work with people across the globe to help enable better lives and be part of their life-changing moments.
Here’s this month’s spotlight on some real stories, from real people, that highlight the work we do here at APM and the positive impact we can have.
A wave of impact for small business owners: Eliza
Through her experience as a professional surfer, entrepreneur Eliza, from Western Australia’s Margaret River region, recognised the need for a greater range of women's sizes in wetsuits and the opportunity to empower women and make them feel more confident.
With support from APM's Self-Employment Assistance program, her dreams became a reality and now she's grown her business, expanded nationally, and plans to grow her range even further!
Building a future: John
John's struggles with mental health issues led him to homelessness and with little hope for the future. The Homelessness Assistance Program provided by Equus, one of the largest workforce development organisations in North America and part of the APM Group, helped John get back on his feet and turn his life around.
Working together: Aidan
The support Aiden received through the APM Futures, a new program for NDIS participants in Australia, helped him secure regular weekly work at his local basketball stadium. The repetitive nature of his work suits his ability and his positive attitude uplifts those around him.
APM is proud to share in many moments like these around the world. You can watch them here.
