Te Kōtuku Rerenga Tahi is APM’s National two-year new graduate programme. APM have been running a programme for New Graduates since 2017 and have drawn on years of experience to design a programme based on feedback from previous years.
Following your induction with the new graduate cohort, you will have the opportunity to shadow assessments and rehab follow ups with experienced therapists. Your career journey with APM is guided by experienced mentors, ensuring growth and success every step.
You’ll have the opportunity to gain experience across a variety of rehabilitation contracts, all while receiving the support and guidance to help you discover your interests and developing yourself as an allied health professional.

APM offers two specialist pathways to those who have completed both their degree and internship:
In this programme, you will work in a multi-disciplinary team to support clients' recovery with a broad range of mental health presentations. The programme also prepares you for working on specialist ACC services such as pain, concussion, training for independence, psychological services, injury recovery, and mental injury assessment.
New Graduate Registered Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Counselling Psychologists and Educational Psychologists are welcome to apply for the Mātanga Tinana pathway. Consideration will be given to applicants with up to 4 years postgraduate experience.
This programme provides an opportunity to gain experience in assessing and rehabilitating mild, moderate, and severe traumatic brain injuries and other neurological conditions. The pathway also prepares you for working independently on the ACC Neuropsychological Assessment service, as well as ACC services such as pain, concussion, training for independence, psychological services, injury recovery, and mental injury assessment.
New Graduate Clinical Psychologists and New Graduate Neuropsychologists are welcome to apply for the Mātanga Hinengaro pathway. Consideration will be given to applicants with up to 4 years postgraduate experience.
All Psychology applicants must have completed both their degree and internship before starting in 2025.
You must be a New Zealand Citizen/Resident living permanently in New Zealand to apply. APM do not fund university costs.
